I am an accomplished programmer and web developer, being fluent in C, VB.NET, Java, JavaScript, SQL, ASP, PHP and (X/D)HTML, as well as Windows and Unix scripting languages. I can design and implement relational databases, having extensive experience with Microsoft Access, SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle systems. I can design, implement, manage and maintain computer networks from the ground-up for Novell, Unix and Active Directory environments. I can manage and maintain network hardware, server farms and clusters, and I can also build and maintain PC workstations. I also have good project management skills, and some experience with Citrix.

Besides computers, I have a long-running fascination with the sciences, particularly physics, chemistry, meteorology and astronomy. I enjoy applying my knowledge to new problems. I have a keen mind, I am a very fast learner and I am willing to work and learn to achieve my goals. I consider myself to be flexible, motivated and intelligent. I am a fair and objective person, with a friendly and outgoing personality. I am equally comfortable working in a team or on my own.
My hobbies include current affairs, astronomy, crosswords, reading, and keeping fit by playing football and jogging. I also have a keen interest in aviation that stems from my time as an Air Training Corps cadet. I have over 20 hours of flying experience in light aircraft, and I intend to complete the course in the near future to obtain a Private Pilots Licence.
